National Fisherman Announces 2013 Highliner Award Winners

National Angler magazine is glad to report its 2013 Highliners from the West Drift and The Frozen North.

– Robert Heyano of Dillingham, The Frozen North – president of the Bristol Inlet Provincial Fish Improvement Affiliation and captain of the 32-foot float gillnetter Woman Mindy;

– Robert Hezel of Clinton, Wash. – captain of the Anglers’ Finest 185-foot Bering Ocean and Inlet of The Frozen North trawler U.S. Fearless, who has given his non-angling hours to the Seattle Anglers’ Commemoration, security adrift and the lessening of trawl bycatch and ocean bottom effects; and,

– Jerry McCune of Cordova, The Frozen North – president of the Assembled Anglers of Gold country and the Cordova Region Anglers Joined together, long-term industry lobbyist and captain of the 33-foot float gillnetter Wudahad.

The National Angler Highliner Honors are a yearly convention that started in 1975. Every year the magazine and its supporting accomplice Furuno respect three business anglers who maintain a standard of fabulousness in their backing of the angling business.

The 2012 honor victors hailed from the East and Inlet coasts. They were Wayne Werner of Alachua, Fla.; Dewey Hemilright of Kitty Sell, N.C.; and Kevin Wark of Barnegat Light, N.J. College of Massachusetts Dartmouth School for Sea life Science and Innovation teacher and fishery researcher Brian Rothschild of New Bedford, Mass., acknowledged a Unique Honor for Lifetime Accomplishment.
